Church Board of Directors

The church Board of Directors at DDM is responsible for ensuring the church is operating on biblical principles. The board addresses concerns and complaints of the congregation regarding clergy and staff members. The board is also repsonsible for articulating the church's mission and developing a strategic plan to execute and achieve it along with ensuring the ministry is financially viable.

Deacon Eric and
Deaconess Roslyn Monroe

Deacon and Deaconess Monroe are the Chairperson of the Diaconate Board. They currently resides in Hampton, Virginia and have two handsome and intelligent sons, Eamon and Jeremiah.
 
Deacon Eric is a man after God's own heart. He seeks to live by God's word daily and believe that we should lead by example. He is very passionate about ministry and enjoys being a servant of God. Deaconess Roslyn is an anointed woman of God who has a servants heart. She is eager to expound on God's word and applies it daily to her life.
 
The dynamic duo, loves serving in ministry together and looks forward to being a blessings to their church family, as well as the community.

Minister Cathy Lawrence

Minister Cathy Lawrence is a native of Oxford, North Carolina. She currently resides in Carrollton, Virginia and is married to Daryll Lawrence. They have a handsome son, Dylan, whom they consider their miracle baby.
 
Min. Cathy is the President of our REACH ministry, which is affectionately known as our outreach ministry. She assist in reaching out to our community and empowering them to have hope, no matter what their circumstances may look like. Min. Cathy firmly believes God’s word in Jeremiah 29:11, that says, “For I know the plans that I have for you says the Lord…” She honestly and openly shares the principles of God’s word through the lens of her own life. 

Minister Sonja Tatum

Minister Sonja Tatum is a native of Kansas. She currently resides in Newport News, Virginia and is the proud mother of four adult children, whom she introduced to God and His love for them early in their life. Min. Sonja accepted the call of God to minister in 2022. She stands on God's word that says 'And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord (Luke 1:45)'.

Min. Sonja is a dedicated leader on several ministries at DDM. She is the President of the Hospitality and Usher Ministry, Board of Directors Arbitrator and she also leads the woman's ministry, which is affectionately known as WIG (Women Investing in God). Her love of God is evident by her spirit of hospitality, which is displayed to those she encounters daily.
